Music Mondays!

So I do love my music. I don't think I've ever gone a day without listening to it.
I like to think of my music taste as diverse because I listen to lots of different genres ranging from Chart Music to Country to Punk so I think it's a good idea for me to share a weekly playlist with you guys where I share which songs/artists I have been loving the past week!

Recently I went to V Festival and listened to some artists I'd never seen before but I also saw ones that I absolutely adored. So firstly an artist I've been loving this week is Ed Sheeran. I hadn't really heard much from his new album before I went to watch him but as soon as I heard him sing the songs I knew I needed to get it. I can't praise him enough for how good he was on stage and I'm really proud of how far he's come from the beginning. He's so humble and you can tell he loves every second of performing.
My favourites off his new album are Nina, Tenerife Sea, Bloodstream, Afire Love, All Of The Stars and I See Fire.
His lyrics have developed so well in this album, ranging from meaningful songs to romantic songs, especially Tenerife Sea, it's the kind of song you want to be serenaded on a beach with! Which is why I love it so much, being a typical girl! And obviously if you've seen The Fault In Our Stars like me, you'll understand why I love All Of The Stars so much!
So if you haven't already you have to go and buy his X album because it's well worth it. Obviously it's not the party kind of music but it's great to listen to when you're feeling thoughtful!

Also another artist I've been loving this week is a girl called Chlöe Howl. To be truthful before V Fest I'd never heard of her before but my friend insisted I go to watch her and I'm so glad I did. She has such a unique voice and is amazing live! She deserved such a bigger crowd than she got. My favourites of hers are Disappointed and Rumour as she isn't afraid to express her feelings in her songs. Her lyrics are so clever and I can't wait for her to show everyone what she's made of!

And the last artist to talk about is a boy called Shawn Mendes. He started off singing 6 seconds snippets on the Vine App where he got more and more views. Eventually he actually did manage to bag himself a record deal where he's produced his own EP. I've always been a fan of his singing because I think he has such a unique voice. He's two years younger than me but he already has a huge fandom and I think he'll end up being really big soon. Because he is so young I half expected his songs and lyrics to be really 'poppy' and a bit cheesy like similar 16 year-olds songs but he blew me away by the lyrics of his songs and the music he sings to. His favourites of mine are The Weight and Life Of The Party.

and just a few extra songs-
Rizzle Kicks- Tell Her. These guys surprised me so much at V Fest. They have amazing energy on stage and their voices are really great! I fell in love with their new single immediately.

Capital Cities- Safe and Sound. I know this song is about a year old but I still love this song and it's squeezed its way back into my playlist recently!

Iggy Azalea & Rita Ora- Black Widow. I love this song as I'm slowly falling in love with Iggy Azalea and this song is all about girl power so I'm all in!

Taylor Swift- Shake It Off. I've seen so many mixed reviews about this song and I'll be honest I'm not too much of a Taylor Swift fan but I fell in love with this song. It's so catchy and I love that in the video she doesn't take herself too seriously. It's a happy song that you will find yourself singing along to!

David Guetta- Lovers On The Sun. This is my favourite party song I've been listening to recently. Sam Martin's voice in this is amazing and I love the whole beat of the song. I've also heard it played in a lot of clubs recently too!

So they are the artists/songs that I've been listening to recently. I want to try and make this a weekly thing although not sure how it's going to work next week as I'm holiday but I will try and post something!

Thanks for reading, comment who you've been listening to this week, I love discovering new artists/songs!

July Glossybox!! (Spoilers)

I was so happy when I opened this months GlossyBox as I'm in love with all things American, and this month's box design was dedicated to it!
The box design was so stunning that I just sat admiring it for a bit until my curiosity got too much and I had to open it. I was pleasantly surprised that all the products this month were also full products and from the looks of it, I'll use every single one of them!

Firstly is the ABSOLUTE New York Perfecting Eyeshadow Primer. And I've actually never owned a eyeshadow primer before, which I know is pretty bad, and I'd been thinking about buying one. But now I have this one that I can try out and I can't wait to see how well it works on my lids, as I have my birthday this weekend so lots of partying to test it out!

Next is the Bellapiere Cosmetics Ltd Mineral Lipstick in the colour Mandarina. It's a really deep orange and as you know I've fallen in love with orange lipsticks lately. So I can't wait to try this one out!

The next product is the Color Club nail polish in the colour Glossy Seal, especially made for this months Glossybox. It's a really pretty teal colour and I can't wait to try this out!

The next product is the NYC New York Color Cream to Powder Blush Stick in Never Sleeping Pink. I've never tried a cream blush before and this is a kind of pink I've also never tried so I'm excited to see what it looks like!

Lastly is the Carmex Lip Balm that I have surprisingly never tried before either and I'm not sure why. But I have just tried this and it makes my lips feel so soft and doesn't taste as horrible as most lip balms too. Also feels tingly when it goes on, don't know if it's supposed to but it feels great! Great product!

Overall I'm really pleased with this months Glossybox and will definitely be using everything in this months. I can't wait to try everything out, reviews will hopefully be out soon!

June Glossybox! Spoilers!

So I got my June Glossybox this morning and I'm actually pretty happy with all of the products! I will definitely be able to use all of them and they seem quite interesting. There's also quite a few more expensive products and 3 full size products too.

So the first thing is this eye shadow brush. It's the Teeez Trend Cosmetics Beautiful Flat Stiff Brush and it's obviously a full size products and it says 19 euros so I don't know why it says euros and not pounds. But it seems really good quality and the packaging is actually really pretty too so I can't wait to try it out!

Next is this Concealer Quad from So Susan Cosmetics that is a full size product originally for £20. This looks really interesting as I've never used this kind of concealer before, mine have all been liquid. I'm not sure what all the different sections do so I'll have to look them up but I can't wait to try it.

Next is the Nailgirls 3-in-1 base/topcoat & nail strengthener. This looks good because it's a base, topcoat and strengthener all in one which is effective as my nails are always breaking. The full product would be £13.50 and I can't wait to try it out tonight.

Next is the full size Got2b Rise 'n Shine Souffle that gives textured volume and silky hair without weighing it down. This a full size product and I can't wait to try this out because the top of my hair is also flat because I have thick and heavy hair so I hope it adds that extra volume without looking greasy. I also love Got2b's hair products. Originally £4.07.

And lastly is this three product package. They are by Roger and Gallet and it's the Fleur de Figuier discovery ritual shower cream, body lotion and fragrance. I've already tried out the fragrance and I love it so much already. It's such a summer scent and I hope the other products smell like that too. The fragrance is originally £32, body lotion is £13 and the shower cream is £9.50 and you can buy them at Marks and Spencer's. I can't wait to try the others out.

So overall I'm really happy with what I got in my GB this month and I will definitely be using some of it during June!

OOTD- Daring to do Orange

So I went out for an 18th the other night and although this was the only picture I got of my full outfit I thought I'd share with you what I wore anyways! You also get a glimpse of my new hair!

So as for my clothes I wore this new skirt from Forever Twentyone which is just a thin grey long skirt, with a slit up the side. I'd wanted one of these forever and I eventually found this one, in the sale! And I knew I had to buy it. So this skirt was only £5.99!
The top I got off holiday and it's just a simple lace cropped top, and the back is see through lace as well. I can't remember the name of the shop because it was Spanish but I've seen these kinds of cropped tops in a lot of places anyways! I remember that it wasn't expensive though.
And my shoes are one of the biggest bargains too! I went in the Winter sale to Tescos for a mooch and found these gorgeous platform heels with a thin ankle strap and fell in love immediately. They were originally supposed to be £22 but in the sale they were only £7! It was insane so I grabbed them immediately (also last size 6). It was fate.
I went very minimal with accessories, only wearing a gold bracelet and ring, and a black suede clutch bag with gold detail.
So for my pop of colour I went extremely out of my comfort zone and tried the orange trend. I've never tried orange before because I didn't think it would suit me but as I've just dip dyed my hair orange, I thought I would carry on the theme! For my hair colour I dyed it with the L'Oreal Paris Ombre kit (I'll do a video about it soon) and because I already had dyed red hair, instead of going blonde, my hair just went orange, but I still really love it! For this outfit I just curled my hair and hair sprayed it slightly just so it was still soft and I could run my fingers through it for a messy look.
As for my nails I used a false set, trimmed the edges so they were quite long and rounded and then painted them the night before the party. This is so they can dry overnight and then I can put them on when I'm ready as they were longer than my normal nails and would've gotten in the way.
Then I painted most of my nails with the Barry M Block Orange and my index finger with the Flormar Matte Black. I loved the vibrant orange contrasted against the matte black and will definitely wear these nails again.

As for make-up I was really disappointed that I didn't get a picture of my full face of make-up because I really went out of my comfort zone with it. I normally just do a plain silver and black smokey eye with red/dark lips for a night out but this time I did something completely different.

First important item is my foundation. I used the Revlon Colorstay foundation in the colour Buff and used my new Real Techniques expert face brush to apply. This foundation is a little too pale for my skin so I use quite a lot of bronzer too. But I've fallen in love with this brush completely, well worth the price!
And this is where the change came in. I don't think I've ever worn a colour like this on my eyes before. I'm not sure why because this eye shadow is pretty old now so I've had it for a while but I've just never got round to it. This picture is with the flash on and you can see it's kind of a gold/copper colour and it's the L'Oreal Paris Color Appeal Platinum in the colour Raw Copper. I used a slightly wet brush to apply this eyeshadow, for one to stop it going down on my cheek but it also gave me a much brighter colour. I then used the darkest black shadow I have and created a shadow in the crease of my eye and blended it out to make my eyes more sultry and darker. I love this colour on my eyes and will definitely be using it more!

Next I used the Maybelline gel eyeliner to line my upper lash line and used the L'Oreal Paris Superliner Brow Artist to fill my brows in slightly. With my lashes, because I was using fake ones, I curled my normal lashes then put the fake ones on, and brushed both of them together. I then used my Maybelline Falsies to coat them both once and I used it on my lower lashes.
These are the lashes I used. They're from eBay and they were only about £2-3 for ten pairs from Taiwan and I needed some simple natural looking lashes and these certainly do the job! They're so easy to apply, and it feels like you hardly have anything on your lids. And they do look really natural, so for the price they're a real bargain!

And lastly the most daring change I've ever gone through is this lipstick/butter. I really wanted an orange lipstick but wasn't sure whether it would suit me so I just decided to go for quite a subtle one to begin with. This is the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in the colour 015 Tutti Frutti. Not only have I always loved the packaging of these lip butters but the colour is amazing. It's quite a subtle orange I think but it can be layered to make it brighter. It feels nice on your lips, doesn't taste horrible like some butters do, and it doesn't make your lips feel greasy which is the case sometimes. I had to keep re-applying it throughout the night but that was expected I guess. Overall I'm really happy with this product!

And this was my outfit for the night. I had a great time, I just wish I'd taken more pictures, so in future I will hopefully be able to take pictures of close-ups to make these posts better.

Have you tried the orange trend before? If so what did you wear?

Maybelline Baby Skin Review

So a few months ago I never even knew what primer was. I never knew how to use it or even what it did. But recently I've seen a lot of blog posts about different kinds of primers and I am a huge fan of Baby Lips by Maybelline anyways so when I saw this Baby Skin Pore Eraser \I decided to buy it and try it out.
I bought this product from Boots for £7.99 and I think this is one of the kind of cheapest primers, most good ones are more expensive (from my research).
I'd also kind of had a problem with my pores and the skin on and around my nose, it's quite bumpy and uneven so that's the place I concentrated the most on with the primer. So I read reviews on this product and I found mixed opinions. Some people didn't like it because compared to their more expensive products, it's not very good, but this is my opinion from a point of view that's never used a primer before.
I applied it with a very skeptical view that it would make my skin any better but I couldn't be more wrong. True to its name it made my skin feel like a babies bottom, I even bragged to my friends at how soft my cheeks were! I have dry skin around my nose anyways and some of the people's reviews I've read said that it was too oily but for me it was perfect. It actually kind of helped my dry skin, keeping it moist all night long. I also have troubles keeping my foundation on my cheeks all day but this helped with that and my foundation stayed on all night. It made my powder, bronzer and blusher go on perfectly too and made my skin look flawless.
I've only used this product a couple of times and I'm sure I might find some flaws with it in the future but for now I'm going to look forward wearing it on a night out (I wouldn't wear it everyday and give my pores and break) and if you're looking for your first primer, I highly suggest this!

Stay Happy

ps. has anyone else tried this primer? If so, what did you think? And if you haven't, what is your favourite primer?

2013 Review Part 2!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
I didn't have time to put this post up yesterday so I'm doing it now! Wow it really doesn't feel like a new year but this year is going to be amazing!
So I'll carry on where I left off which was July.
July:
In July I did most of my AS exams and finished my first year of college on a high note.
I then spent some time doing my videos and I uploaded these three with my best friend:
I felt I was getting better at the whole videoing process but that my videos were still really long.
I then went on holiday with my family to Fuengirola. I had a really good time, and the place is amazing and the hotel was great, they were a good family hotel with loads of things to do throughout the day.
Here are some pictures:

Also whilst I was on holiday it was my 17th birthday so I had a great time by the pool and shopping to celebrate :)

I even opened some presents by the pool

When I got back I filmed another video doing my make-up routine. I should really update this because it's changed so much and I hardly use any of these products anymore.

It was on my summer bucketlist that you can see here>> Summer to go to a beach so when I got back I planned to go to Blackpool with three of my friends. We got the train which was exciting because I hardly ever get trains. When we got there we were very touristy, we played miniature golf, ate fish and chips, went on a little boat on a river, walked down the pier and had doughnuts and then went on the beach. Unfortunately it started raining pretty heavily but we didn't let that stop us!

August:
In August I carried on with my bucketlist, tie dying loads of clothes. I bought lots of tops from Primark in different styles and some clothes dye from Wilkinson's that wasn't expensive at all and we set out to do it.
Check out the blog post I did here >>>Tie Dying
I love the results!

I also did another shoot that is one of my all time favourites this year with my friends. I love using Tash as my model because she will pretty much do anything, no matter how horrible. Here are some edits that I love:

In the summer I kind of got my first job thing at a Country Fair that I go to every year. We went the second day and every single year I go to the archery tent because I absolutely love it. I was talking to the guy that was doing it and I told him that I come every year and he said that the usual people who work here can't work tomorrow so he asked if I wanted to work. I immediately said yes because he said I could shoot whenever I wanted. So the next day I worked with him, collecting arrows and teaching all kinds of people to shoot. I really enjoyed it and it was a great first 'job'. I also got paid really well too, which I couldn't really complain about!

Sept:
So in September I went back to college as an A2 student and carried on three subjects, media, photography and psychology.
I filmed a Summer faves video here>>> Summer Favourites

In my media class we could choose what project we wanted to do so I decided to do a music video and so did my friend Robyn. So we decided to work together and we were quick to decide what song and theme we wanted to do before anybody else.
So we got ready and filmed it quickly which was such a fun night. We filmed at Robyn's house and invited loads of people because we wanted a party vibe and I didn't know anyone but I met loads of cool people.
I also started my Photography Unit 3 which was based around Street Life so I took my brother and some friends out to take pictures of them skateboarding. Here are some I like:

I also had a free house one night so invited my friends round for a sleepover and we decided to play Slenderman. I did originally film the gameplay too so we could incorporate them both but unfortuantely it didn't work properly so I just edited the footage we got. I really enjoyed filming and editing this and it's absolutely hilarious to watch. Check it out here>>> Slenderman Reactions

I also took part in the Alzheimer's Society memory walk to raise money for the Society. I took part with my friends and I had a great time.

October:
So October was some of the first 18th birthdays of my friends and I was really excited but it felt weird that some of us were finally 18.
I also went to Vogue's Fashion Night Out in Manchester. I'd heard of it before but it's usually in London so this year I saw that it was coming to Manchester. I loved dressing up and going out and the places were amazing. I did a little vlog/update from then here>>> Update and FNO
I had a really good time with my friends

Me and my friends also booked the holiday that we wanted to go on together this year. Roll on Zante 2014! I'm really excited but nervous at the same time because it's the first time away without parents or anything but I'm excited to go with ten of my friends.

I also filmed two other videos:

Nov:
In November I started a little project that already exists called Dear Photograph. It is made my someone called Taylor Jones and it's all about memories. Here is one I did:

In November we had also finished our media coursework. I'm so proud of this video and me and Robyn spent lots of time and effort on this. Please check it out, and give feedback, the more then the better our coursework will be!

I also went to watch Tyler Ward with my best friend. It was such a small gig, about fifty people there and it was also his last UK date which was exciting. I was a little nervous because I'd never been to a gig but I really enjoyed it! I vlogged it here>> Tyler Ward Vlog

Just when we thought that our media coursework couldn't get better we got TWO comments of Madeon himself! We sent him the video on Facebook and got this in return-

And then to make it even better we got this comment on our YouTube Video!
We were so excited we didn't know what to do with ourselves! This was definitely a highlight of my year!

I also filmed a November Favourites Video here>> November Favourites

Dec:
I filmed a Winter Lookbook in December that I'm actually really proud of. It turned out just how I wanted it too and I'm going to do a lot more videos like this in the future!

And then you pretty much know the other stuff that happened. If you haven't seen my updated blog then check it out here>>> Christmas Time Illness

So finally here we are, 2014. This is the year of:
-18ths
-Little Mix
-One Direction
-My 18th
- Zante 2014
-Start of Uni
and much much more!

I'm so excited for this year in terms of blogging and making new videos so bring it on!

Stay Happy
